Local Councils across
Eastern Seaboard strongly endorse Soybiodiesel
12 August 2010National Biodiesel is pleased to advise that more and more Councils located in the Eastern seaboard across Australia have demanded the use of premium quality Soybiodiesel B20 sourced exclusively from BQ-9000 certified producers.
After initially supplying Marrickville council, word has spread and now the following Councils are using Soybiodiesel:-
| Randwick Council | Fairfield Council |
| Bankstown Council | Canterbury Council |
| Blacktown Council | Marrickville Council |
| Ballina Council | Kiama Council |
- Major reduction in greenhouse gases
- Positively contributes to the human food chain (4:1 food to fuel Ratio)
- Sustainability compared to other biofuels
- Non-toxic, biodegradable and odourless
- High consistent quality (as compared to tallow for example)
Robson and Xstrata
reduce emissions with Soybiodiesel®

Robson Civil Projects is a privately owned business that has been in
operation for more than 50 years. In recent years Robson has emerged as
one of the leading civil construction companies on the east coast of Australia,
having developed partnerships with a number of major clients and engineering
consultancy firms to deliver large, complex civil projects in the mining, rail
and commercial sectors.
One of the multinational companies that Robson has partnered with is Swiss mining giant Xstrata, where ate their Mangoola mine site near Muswellbrook they operate their fleet on B20
Soydiesel.
Robson switched to Soybiodiesel in 2008 and are now a major user and realizing substantial greenhouse gas reductions. By May this year Robsons had consumed over 5 million litres of B20 which has abated over 2,700 tonnes of CO2. This is recognized by National Biodiesel with an emissions reduction certificate (pictured above) and plays an important part of the company’s environmental strategy. Prospective clients, whether they be government or companies, seek the contribution they are making to carbon reduction, a key aspect of tendering for contracts.
While carbon emission abatement is a high priority for some vehicle and plant operators, it is an absolute imperative for some companies such as Xstrata. By using the B20 blend on site the total emissions from the mine can be reduced. In turn this contributes to the wider carbon strategy of the company.
Minister highlights Australia's oil deficit blowout
1 June 2010
The Federal Government dropped a rather startling
statistic on the table during May 2010. Speaking to the Australian Petroleum
Production and Exploration Association conference in Brisbane, the Minister for
Energy, Martin Ferguson revealed that we now have a national trade deficit in
crude oil, refined products and LPG of $16 billion a year, heading for $30
billion by 2015.
National Biodiesel has long since recognised that
Australia is too dependent on foreign imports for its liquid energy supplies.
National Biodiesel, through the development of a soybiodiesel refinery in Port
Kembla NSW, will supply a locally sourced sustainable clean alternative fuel.
NRMA highlights
growing dependence on foreign oil
11 February 2010
The
NRMA had advised that if action is not taken now, Australia will be almost
entirely dependent on oil imported from some of the most volatile parts of the
world for our transport and security needs within 10 years.
National Biodiesel expands into Victoria
National Biodiesel is pleased to announce the
supply of premium quality Soybiodiesel® into the Victorian market. Users will profit from the superior performance of Soybiodiesel® in addition to the environmental benefits and lower exhaust emissions. Soybiodiesel® is available through Just Fuel Petroleum to both retail and wholesale customers throughout Victoria. The need for a low-carbon, premium quality liquid fuel has never been greater

Marrickville Council takes the lead on B100
Marrickville Council has be
come the first in Australia to run its entire diesel fleet on 100% premium quality Soybiodiesel®. Supplied by local distributor The Biodiesel Station, Marrickville council has mandated the use of B100 in its diesel powered vehicles and equipment following successful trials which commenced in May
this year. Recognising both the environmental and performance benefits of using biodiesel exclusively in place of fossil diesel, Marrackville Council has taken an important step in ensuring the sustainability of its community and the quality of life for its people.
Mayor of Marrickville Sam Iskandar said “Council has also started using biodiesel across its fleet and is phasing out vehicles with an environmental rating of less than 10 as part of its futurefleet@marrickville program, which has led to a saving of 100 tonnes of CO2 emissions since 2004”.

We are becoming more aware of what needs to be done to create a more sustainable future
for subsequent generations, and the use of premium quality renewable fuels that do not compete
with food production, such as Soybiodiesel® is part of that future. As has been the case in the US
and Europe, more councils will follow the lead of the progressive and environmentally aware
Marrickville council."
Premium quality Soybiodiesel® is available to the general public from The Biodiesel Station. Each litre of Soybiodiesel® used in place of fossil diesel will generate a 78% net reduction in CO2 released into the atmosphere - truly helping to create a sustainable future.
